Your Brand Registry application should have an owner before it has a submission date.
For a new brand, the priority is to connect the right people, records, and Amazon accounts in a sequence your team can manage. Approval should lead to usable access and an organized launch, not another dashboard nobody maintains.
Start with enrollment responsibility, then prepare verification, confirm permissions, and establish your first operating routine.
Put Your Brand in Charge of Enrollment
Amazon requires the trademark owner to enroll the brand. An authorized agency or service provider can receive access afterward; it should not replace the owner as the applicant.
Appoint an internal coordinator to collect information and track the application. Give that person access to the legal contact, product team, and account administrator.
If your business already has a Seller Central or Vendor Central account, Amazon instructs you to use the same credentials when creating your Brand Registry account.
Use individual access assignments for collaborators rather than circulating the primary login. Decide who will maintain access if your agency relationship changes or an employee leaves.
Prepare One Application File
Confirm that your brand has an active registered trademark or an eligible pending application from an accepted trademark office. An unregistered name alone is insufficient. Check the applicable country requirements before proceeding.
Then assemble your brand name, trademark number, relevant logo file, product categories, and product photographs. Amazon may also request manufacturing or distribution information.
Request genuine photographs from operations showing the branding permanently affixed to products or packaging. Amazon does not accept digitally altered images or computer-generated mockups as enrollment evidence.
Keep this folder separate from marketing assets so nobody accidentally submits a render instead of a photograph.
Add a document owner and review date. Before submission, have a second person compare the application with the source records. Resolve missing information internally rather than guessing at an answer to complete the form.
Eligible brands can enroll before they start selling directly on Amazon. In the Brand Registry portal, select “Enroll a new brand” to begin, but arrange the verification handoff below before submitting your completed application.
Arrange the Verification Handoff
Amazon verifies ownership by contacting the public correspondent associated with the trademark. That contact receives a code, which must be provided back to Amazon through the enrollment process.
Identify that person before applying. It may be your attorney rather than the employee handling Amazon operations.
Explain that a verification request is expected, confirm the contact is available, and agree on a secure handoff. Monitor the application case and follow the deadline Amazon provides.
Keep the submission date, case identifier, requested documents, and next action in one internal log.
If Amazon requests clarification, answer the specific question and retain the response. Avoid launching parallel applications merely because different departments are unsure who is following up.
Schedule launch dependencies around confirmed milestones, not an assumed approval date.
Check Permissions Immediately After Approval
Amazon distinguishes protection roles from selling roles. Rights Owner and Administrator concern Brand Registry access and management; Registered Agent supports authorized third parties reporting suspected infringement. Selling roles include Brand Representative and Reseller.
Do not assume that someone who can access protection tools can also use selling benefits.
Review each account against its actual responsibilities. Your internal brand team and an external reseller should not automatically receive identical access.
Amazon recommends having more than one Administrator. Keep that continuity within trusted personnel rather than making a service provider your only route into the account.
Ask each invited user to confirm access from their own login. Record accepted invitations, assigned responsibilities, and an offboarding owner. An invitation sent is not the same as a working account.
Match Your Launch Catalog to Available Tools
Build a launch register connecting each internal SKU with its ASIN, product identifier, marketplace, and responsible account. For products not yet listed, record the planned information without inventing Amazon identifiers.
Review live titles, variants, images, and brand attribution against your approved product information. Route discrepancies to the appropriate support process with the affected ASIN and account details.
Next, test one priority product before rolling out content across the catalog.
For branded products, Amazon’s seller eligibility requirements for A+ Content include a Professional selling account and an appropriate Brand Representative or Reseller role. Content must then be applied to eligible ASINs and submitted for review.
Keep enrollment approval and content approval as separate launch milestones.
For eligible sellers, Brand Analytics is accessed through Seller Central. Assign someone to verify access rather than searching for every commercial tool inside Brand Registry.
Give the First Month Specific Deliverables
We recommend three outcomes for your first month after approval.
- Access readiness: The brand retains administrative continuity, collaborators have appropriate permissions, and someone owns unresolved support cases.
- Catalog readiness: Priority products have been checked against approved information, content submissions have named owners, and outstanding issues have documented next actions.
- Protection readiness: Your team knows who receives marketplace concerns, who investigates them, and who authorizes escalation.
Run a simple internal rehearsal. Ask what happens when customer service receives a report about an unfamiliar listing. Identify the person responsible for evaluating it before anyone submits a complaint.
Do not measure onboarding by how many tools you opened. Measure whether your team can complete the tasks those tools support without relying on one unavailable person.
At the end of the month, review incomplete actions and assign ongoing ownership. Retire temporary access that is no longer needed.
